Sudan Country Office Visitors

Tuesday 10 July 2018

This was my first visit to Sudan and the experience was phenomenal! With the transitional government, Sudan is in a unique historical moment where Save the Children has exciting new opportunities for promoting children's rights. The teams I worked with in Khartoum and Zalingei are very skilled and well-connected and clearly motivated to support projects that have the most impact on children. I think integrated Safe Schools programming can be very relevant for Sudan moving forward, as access to areas that were traditionally closed-off increases. The children, teachers, PTAs, MoE, and SCCW that participated in our workshop in Zalingei were very excited and already committed to replicating these workshops back in their localities. Looking forward to following Safe Schools updates from Sudan on Workplace in the near future!
