ولاية سنار، الـ 10 من أغسطس 2022
في يوليو من العام 2022، هبة* التي تبلغ من العمر 28 عاما، كانت تقطن في منزلهم الصغير بالنيل الأزرق مع أبنائها الخمسة و حفيدها ذو العامين. و في ظهيرة يوم ما، حيث لا يتواجد حينها زوجها الذي يعمل بعيدا عن المنزل، حينها بدأ الاقتتال بدون أي توقعات.
"سمعنا أصوات الرصاص بالخارج، و كنا خائفين جدا، فاسرعنا فقط بالهرب إلى الخارج لمحاولة الهرب"
في ولاية النيل الأزرق بالسودان، بدأ وتيرة الأحداث بالتصاعد بين المجموعات القبلية، و النزاع في قضايا تتعلق بملكية الأرض، و الشؤون الإدارية بين تلك المجموعات. و لكن العديد من السكان – مثل هبة – لم يتوقعوا حدوث مثل هذا التصعيد.
"كانت هناك بعض المشاكل الصغيرة من قبل، لكننا لم نتوقع هذا. هرعنا بالهرب من الذعر، و من ثم، ابنتي سامية* ذات الـ 15 عاما، و التي كانت تحمل ابنها الصغير عند محاولتنا الهرب، تمت اصابتهم سوياً و سقطوا على الأرض. كان الصبي مستلقياً أمامها. وقفت بجانبهم وأنا انظر إليهم و هم يموتون في الشارع. كان شيئاً مريعاً"

كان وجه هبة يوحي بحزن عميق حينما تذكرت الموقف. وهي تحاول إنقاذ اطفالها الآخرين، هبة واصلت الركض حتى وصلت إلى مدرسة عسكرية، حيث وجدوا هنالك الحماية. هذه الأحداث الحالية تركتها في صدمة.
"لم أنم جيداً في الليل، استقيظت كثيراً. كان الأطفال يتحدثون كل يوم عن الذي حدث. لماذا يحاولون قتلنا ؟ سألوني أيضاً عن أختهم، أين ذهبت؟ و أين ابنها؟ عندما أخبرهم أنهم ماتوا لا يصدقونني."
من ولاية النيل الأزرق، نزحت هبة و أبنائها إلى ولاية سنار المجاورة مشياً على الأقدام و بالمركبات المتنقلة، لتعيش مع الزوجة الثانية لزوجها، و برفقة اطفالها. هم يتعبرون أنفسهم كأسرة واحدة، وهم الآن متواجدون ضمن مجتمعهم و تحت استضافتهم.
"لم أكن اعرف هؤلاء الناس من قبل، ولكنهم طيبون جداً، لقد قاموا بتزويدنا بالطعام و المأوى، نحن ممتنون جداً لهم" كانت تلك عباراتها تقديراً لهم.
"لا توجد أي طريقة لنا للعودة" واصلت هبة: "لقد تم إحراق منزلنا بالكامل، و تم نهب جميع ممتلكاتنا. لم يعد لدينا شيء آخر هناك. قبل خمسة أيام، علمنا أن زوجي قام بالنزوح إلى الخرطوم، و سأقوم باللحاق به حين أجد بعض المال"
هبة لا تزال في صدمة من الأحداث المريعة التي حدثت قبل نحو شهر. في ولاية سنار، حيث تقطن مؤقتاً، حصلت على الدعم الطبي من خلال آلية الاستجابة السريعة للمتضررين لمنظمة رعاية الطفولة.

"كانت طفلتي الصغيرة مريضة، و كنا سعداء أنه قد حصلنا على العلاج مجاناً في المركز. نحن الآن بأمان، لكن حياتنا القديمة انتهت. سيتوجب علينا اعادة بناء كل شيء من الأول"
افراد منظمة رعاية الطفولة يقومون بكل الممكن لدعم الاشخاص مثل هبة من خلال الدعم النفسي و الخدمات الطبية. في هذا المركز، الخدمات ممولة من خلال الدعم السخي من صندوق السودان الإنساني للأمم المتحدة.

Sennar State, 10th of August 2022
In July 2022, 28-year-old Hiba* was in her small house in Blue Nile state with her five children and the two-year-old grandson. It was around noon and her husband was out working in the fields when fighting erupted unexpectedly.
“We heard gunshots outside. We were very scared. We just ran out onto the street trying to escape.” She explains.
In Sudan’s Blue Nile state, tensions have been building up recently between ethnic groups. Issues include land ownership and administrative regulations, among others. However, many people - like Hiba - did not except the escalation.

“There were some smaller problems before, but we did not except this. We all ran in panic. Then my 15-year-old daughter, Samiya*, and her little son, whom she was carrying, were both hit. They fell. The boy was laying in front of her. I stood next to them and saw them dying on the street. It was terrible.”
Hiba’s face reflects a deep sadness when remembering the situation. Trying to save her other children, Hiba continued to run until they reached a military school, where they found protection. The recent events left her in shock.
“I do not sleep well at night; I wake up a lot. The children also speak every day about what has happened. Why people were trying to shoot at us. They ask me where their sister is, where their nephew is. When I say that they died, they don’t believe me.”
From Blue Nile state, Hiba and her children traveled to the neighbouring state of Sennar on foot and by open trucks, reuniting with the second wife of her husband and her children. They consider themselves as one family and are now staying with community members who are hosting them.
“I did not know the people before. They are very kind; they are providing us with shelter and food; we are very grateful.” She says with appreciation.  
“There is no way for us to go back.” Hiba explains. “Our house was burned down, and our things were looted. We don’t have anything left there. Five days ago, we found out that my husband escaped to Khartoum. As soon as I find some money, I will go there.
Hiba is still in shock about the horrific events that took place barely a month ago. In Sennar state, where she is temporarily staying, she received medical support through Save the Children’s emergency response.
“My young daughter was sick, and we were glad that treatment was provided free of charge here in the centre. We are safe now, but our old life is gone. We must rebuild everything from scratch.”
Save the Children staff are doing their best to support people like Hiba through psychosocial support and with medical services. In this centre, services are funded through the generous support of the UN’s Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF).
