"عمري 14 سنة وأعيش مع والدتي وأربع شقيقات وثلاثة أشقاء في مخيم للنازحين. كثيرًا ما أتذكر منزلنا: كان يحتوي على ثلاث غرف نوم وساحة ومطبخ. ذات ليلة تعرضت قريتنا للهجوم وإحراقها على الأرض واضطررنا إلى الفرار. أكثر ما افتقده في قريتنا القديمة هو مدرستي. في منزلنا كنت أستيقظ مبكرًا جدًا في الصباح وأذهب إلى المدرسة. عندما أعود إلى المنزل، أساعد والدتي في الطبخ والغسيل. في وقت فراغي كنت أرسم.
الآن لن أذهب إلى المدرسة بعد. المخيم هنا مكتظ وليس لدي والدتي الكثير من الوقت لأنها تبحث دائمًا عن عمل. ما يجعلني سعيدة هو لقاء أصدقائي. نذهب سويًا إلى المساحة الصديقة للطفل ويقدمون لنا أقلام ملونة وأوراق رسم. أحب الرسم وأنسى كل شيء حولي عندما أرسم. أنا أيضا أحب أن ألعب الكرة مع أصدقائي. الآن حلمي الوحيد هو العودة إلى المدرسة وأن أصبح طبيبة."

تعيش ماجدة في مخيم للنازحين في غرب دارفور.
تدعم منظمة رعاية الطفولة المخيم - الذي بدأ العمل به منذ فبراير 2021 - بتمويل من مكتب المعونة الإنسانية للإتحاد الأوروبي حوالي 1140 أسرة خلال خدمات الصحة والتغذية والحماية.
"I am 14 years old and I live with my mother, four sisters and three brothers in the camp for displaced people. I often remember our house: It had three bedrooms, a yard, and a kitchen. One night our village was attacked and burned to the ground and we had to flee. What I miss most from our old village is my school. Back home, I used to get up very early in the morning and go to school. When I came home, I helped my mother with cooking and washing. In my free time I used to draw.
Now I am not going to school anymore. The camp here is overcrowded and my mother does not have much time for me, because she is always searching for work. What makes me happy is to meet my best friend. We go together to the Child-Friendly Space and they give us coloured pencils and drawing sheets. I love to draw and I forget everything around me when I do that. I also like to play ball with my friends. Now my only dream is to go back to school and to become a doctor.”

Magda lives in an IDP Camp - which has been operational since February 2021 - in West Darfur.
In this camp, Save the Children, with funding from the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid/Sudan, is supporting around 1,140 families through Health, Nutrition and Protection services.
